The Panamera made its long-awaited debut in Vietnam with an exclusive launch ceremony held at Porsche Centre Saigon, on Saturday evening, 3 October 2009. Now, you can discover and explore all that Porsche’s new Gran Turismo has to offer for yourself at Porsche Centre Saigon.
Nearly 200 invited guests and journalists were welcomed by the Porsche Centre Saigon staff and special guest Dr. Henrik Dreier, Regional Manager Marketing, Porsche Asia Pacific, to celebrate the launch of Porsche’s fourth model series following the 911, the Boxster/Cayman and the Cayenne.
Earlier in the day, a press conference was held for the briefing of the new Panamera’s highlights and unique, innovative features to the press. Over 30 representatives from popular newspapers and various lifestyle and motoring magazines were invited and present at the event.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Andreas Klingler, General Director of Prestige Sports Cars, the official Porsche importer in Vietnam emphasized, “Porsche has developed a complete new car, which will redefine the four-door luxury segment. The Panamera is a typical true Porsche with outstanding performance, comfort and efficiency. Porsche has managed, with the new Panamera, to bring more spirit into the luxurious car segment. It does not have to be boring anymore to drive in a four door car”.
As evening approached, the official launch party began. Aptly titled “The Quintessence of Driving”, the Panamera launch ceremony was perfectly planned right down to the last detail. With a classic, monochromatic colour scheme of black, white and grey – complete with lightly scented candles, bouquets of flowers, lounge sofas and lighted lounge tables, the atmosphere was chic, laid-back and elegant. Additional programme highlights included a contemporary ballet dance item, jazz band performance and fashion show - which successfully set the pace and built up momentum for the night’s grand debut.
Then came the most exhilarating moment of the night - the unveiling of the new Panamera. As the guests turned their attention towards the stage, the Panamera S appeared majestically, making its grand entrance via a revolving stage and was unveiled by Dr. Henrik Dreier and Mr. Andreas Klingler. And that was only the beginning - amidst a thrilling display of laser lights and smoke effects, a second Panamera S was presented shortly afterwards.
To help guests understand more about the Panamera’s key product features, Mr. Peer Marzahn, After Sales Director, Porsche Centre Saigon, together with a famous local actress engaged in an innovative ‘Question and Answer’ role play presentation. With great aplomb, the duo brought the product explanation to life, and successfully piqued the interest of the guests.
And what better way to end off the night, then for the guests themselves to get an upclose look and feel of the Panamera themselves? With the assistance of the well-trained Porsche Centre Saigon sales staff, journalists and guests were invited to observe and discover the new Panamera first-hand.
As the night drew to a close, guests were presented with door-gifts to remind them of their memorable Panamera experience. Having taken their first step in the Panamera journey, the guests left satisfied and excited from a successful evening, and eager for more.
