Porsche - Exterior Front.
Exterior Front.
The horizontal geometry of the air intakes makes the front end appear even wider – lending it added bite. On the GTS models, this impression is further enhanced by the larger air intakes, black external airblades and black front spoiler. The fenders? Unmistakably Porsche. Higher than the front trunk, they have been styled to give prominence to the design of the headlights, which lay bare their inner workings and incorporate the LED daytime running lights. The GTS models have front lights in black.

The side profile emphasises the mid-engined layout. The wheel arches are large – for wheels up to 20 inches. In the 718 T models these are in Titanium Grey; in the 718 GTS 4.0 models in Satin Black. One thing is clear: the 718 models weren't built for the garage. They were built for unrestrained driving pleasure. So, naturally the lines on the doors direct the air stream to the large side air intakes. To optimally supply the engines with air and produce powerful thrust.

The rear of the 718 models is an expression of maximum sporting performance – and also the top performance of our designers. It is clear, reduced, and anything but conformist. The taillights are flat and also clear in the 718 GTS 4.0 models. Their interior is of a three-dimensional design. Four LED brake lights surround the horizontal taillights. An accent trim between the two taillights makes the rear end look wide.
The rear wing automatically extends from speeds of 125 km/h, and reduces lift for better roadholding. Strong finish: the tailpipe, centrally positioned in the rear fascia, with twin tailpipes in the 718 T and 718 S models. In the 718 GTS 4.0 models, the tailpipes are separated in the rear fascia unique to the GTS 4.0.

Wheels.

The 718 Boxster and Cayman models have 18-inch wheels – with a distinctive design. The S models are equipped with 19-inch wheels, the 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models with 20-inch wheels in Titanium Grey or Satin Black. On all 718 models, the wheels are alloys – a sports car hallmark. The wide rear wheels provide excellent stability and exceptional cornering performance. Rolling resistance and tire weight are comparatively low, which helps to reduce fuel consumption. Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) improves safety. A selection of 20-inch wheels is available in our range of options.

Interior.
Intuitive handling, performance-oriented ergonomics, a clean design. The interior of the 718 models is also fully geared towards sporty performance.
Centre console.

A strong emphasis on the horizontal gives the dashboard design of the 718 models a striking appearance. Without sacrificing the excellent ergonomics for which Porsche is renowned: the ascending centre console shortens the reach between the steering wheel and gear lever/selector, while the clear arrangement of function buttons saves time.

PCM with Touch Display.

Porsche Communication Management (PCM) features a 7-inch touchscreen display. With its high-quality glass surface, it is the aesthetically perfect addition to the centre console. The 718 T models have a practical storage compartment, instead of PCM. Our take on ‘digital detox’.

Sport steering wheel.

Pure motorsport: the sport steering wheel is derived from the 918 Spyder. The optional GT Sport Steering Wheel with its smaller diameter further enhances the cockpit feel. It is included as standard in the 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models, and in the 718 GTS 4.0 models finished in Race-Tex, along with numerous other GTS specific interior items. The instrument cluster includes three circular instruments with an integrated 4.6-inch colour screen. Typical of Porsche: the tachometer in the middle.

Engine.

The 2.0-litre turbocharged horizontally opposed engine.

The 718 and 718 T models come equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged horizontally opposed engine with direct fuel injection (DFI), VarioCam Plus and integrated dry-sump lubrication. It develops 300 hp at 6,500 rpm. Maximum torque: 280 lb-ft. With Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds for a speed of 275 km/h.

The 2.5-litre turbocharged horizontally opposed engine.

The S models have a 2.5-litre displacement. The result is 350 hp at 6,500 rpm. Maximum torque: 309 lb-ft. This unit – like the one in the 911 Turbo – also comes equipped with Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG). It ensures a smoother unleashing of power and therefore increased driving pleasure. Its thrust? Goes up to 285 km/h. With PDK and Launch Control, the S models sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.

The 4.0-litre six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine.

The 718 GTS 4.0 models offer an enormous performance spectrum. Guaranteed by the powerful 4.0-litre six-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with its full 394 hp at 7,000 rpm. The maximum torque: 309 lb-ft. Top track speed: 293 km/h.

Transmission.

6-speed manual transmission.
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).

The 718 models are equipped with a smooth 6-speed manual transmission optimally matched to the respective engine characteristics. The gear lever in the 718 T models is shortened for fast, sporty shift throws. The result: short shift times and an even sportier and more authentic driving experience.

The 7-speed PDK with manual and automatic mode is available as an option. For extremely fast gear changes without interrupting the flow of power. And all with even better acceleration performance. In manual mode, the shift direction simulates that of race cars – to the rear to shift up, forwards to shift down. For a race track driving experience wherever you are.

Chassis.

Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

The optional PASM is an electronic damping control system. The system continuously adjusts the damping force on each wheel, based on driving style and current road conditions. The body is also lowered by 10 mm (0.39 in). PASM has two modes, which can be selected using a button on the center console: ‘Normal’, which is a blend of performance and comfort, and ‘Sport’, where the setup is much firmer. The results are tangible: increased driving stability, improved comfort and enhanced performance.

PASM Sport Suspension.

The 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models are equipped with PASM Sport Suspension. The body sits 20 mm (0.78 in) lower. The springs are harder and shorter and the anti-roll bars on the front and rear axles are stiffer. The result: direct, agile handling and top cornering performance. For a little more ground clearance and comfort, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), with ride height lowered by 10 mm (0.39 in), is also available for the 718 GTS 4.0 models.

Porsche Stability Management (PSM).

All 718 models are equipped with enhanced Porsche Stability Management (PSM) – an automatic control system for maintaining stability at the limits of dynamic driving performance. PSM improves traction under acceleration on inconsistent road surfaces. The result is a high level of driving stability and safety – and extraordinary agility at the same time.

Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV).

Optional for the 718 and 718 S models, standard for the 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models: Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV). This system enhances vehicle dynamics and stability by applying variable torque distribution to the rear wheels, in conjunction with a mechanical rear differential lock. For the driver, this means strong resistance to destabilising side forces, outstanding traction and great agility at any speed – with precise turn-in and well-balanced load transfer characteristics. What else? Tremendous fun in the corners.

Electromechanical power steering.

A direct steering system that lives up to its name. The direct steering ratio ensures agile turn-in and a sporty driving experience – with the usual high level of comfort. The comfort-orientated Power steering Plus is available as an option.

Sport button.
The Sport button enables you to select a suspension set-up where the emphasis is on either comfort or sporty performance. At the push of a button, the engine dynamics become even more direct. In addition, the Sport Exhaust System is automatically activated. In vehicles with Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), upshifts take place at higher engine speeds and downshifts happen sooner.
Porsche - Sport Chrono Package.
Sport Chrono Package.
The Sport Chrono Package is standard in the 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models and available as an option for the other 718 models. It allows an even sportier tuning of the chassis, engine and transmission. And launches you to unprecedented sporty heights. With significant help from the mode switch on the steering wheel derived from the 918 Spyder. There are four settings to choose from without taking your hand entirely off the wheel: Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual, which allows you to adjust the vehicle more closely to your personal driving style.
Brakes.

Performance counts in sport. True for the engine. True for the brakes. That’s why the 718, 718 T and 718 S models are equipped with fourpiston aluminum monobloc fixed brake calipers. In the 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman and the 718 T models the brakes are in black; in the S models the brakes are in red. The brake discs have a diameter of 330 mm at the front and 299 mm at the rear. The brakes in the 718 S models are reinforced on the front axle.

In the 718 GTS 4.0 models the brakes were further reinforced and adapted to the high performance: the front axle is equipped with six-piston aluminum brakes monobloc fixed brake calipers in red. The brake discs have a diameter of 350 mm at the front and 330 mm at the rear. To make them tougher yet lighter and enable a more rapid response – even under extreme loads – the brake calipers have an enclosed monobloc construction. The pedal travel is short and the biting point precise. The brake discs are crossdrilled and internally vented, which helps to provide improved wet braking and optimum cooling.

With optional Porsche Entry & Drive, you can leave your car key in your pocket. As soon as you grab the door handle, or your hand nears the Crest on the front luggage compartment lid or the logos on the rear, Porsche Entry & Drive checks the access code stored in the key. If this is correct, the door or luggage compartment lid unlocks. The engine can then be started and switched off using the electronic ignition starter switch.

¹ The Porsche Entry & Drive system uses state-of-the-art technology. However, it cannot be completely ruled out that the key’s wireless encryption code is intercepted and used to open or steal the vehicle.

The optional Ambient Lighting is both practical and aesthetically appealing. It comprises dimmable LEDs in various parts of the interior.

Steering wheels.

GT Sport Steering Wheel.

The sport steering wheel with three-spoke design is lightweight and functional. The small centre pad and the decorative ring encircling the Porsche Crest – both derived from the steering wheel of the 918 Spyder – reinforce its sporty character. In conjunction with PDK, the sport steering wheel features two alloyed gearshift paddles offering particularly short shift throws.

The optional GT Sport Steering Wheel has a smaller diameter. The spokes are finished in black, the silver-coloured inlays are screw-fastened. For a motorsport-derived look? Definitely. Above all, though, to emulate a motorsport driving feel. Included as standard in the 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models. In the 718 GTS 4.0 models it is finished with the proven motorsport material Race-Tex. Heating and multifunction controls are optionally available for all steering wheels. These give you fingertip access to the 4.6-inch colour display and therefore the onboard computer as well as many audio, telephone and navigation functions.

The Sport Seats are comfortable and provide support during dynamic cornering. They are equipped with electric backrest adjustment and mechanical fore/aft and height adjustment.

Porsche Comfort - Power Sport Seats.
Power Sport Seats.

Comfort doesn’t have to be sacrificed. Neither does a sporty driving feel. The optional Power Sport Seats with driver memory package allow you to adjust the seat height, backrest angle, cushion angle and cushion depth. Also electrically operated are the fore/aft adjustment, four-way lumbar support and even the steering column.

The Sport Seats Plus in leather with electric backrest adjustment and mechanical fore/aft and height adjustment are optionally available for the 718 and 718 S models. These are included as standard in the 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models. The side bolsters on the cushion and backrest have firmer, sportier padding, offering even better lateral support. In the 718 T models the seat centres are in Sport-Tex, in the 718 GTS 4.0 models in Race-Tex.

Available on request, adaptive Sport Seats Plus reinforce the connection between sport and comfort. As an upgraded version of the Sport Seats Plus, they combine all the features of the Power Sport Seats and add power adjustment of the side bolsters on the cushion and backrest.

Available as an option for the 718 T and 718 GTS 4.0 models: full bucket seats made completely of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) and with a carbon-weave finish. They offer particularly good lateral support at minimal weight. The fore/aft adjustment is manual, the height adjustment is electric.

Specially designed for Porsche and optimally adapted to the specific interior acoustic of the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman: the optional surround sound system from BOSE®. In short: you’re always at the heart of things in the 718 models.

Sound Package Plus.

Sound Package Plus delivers excellent sound. It comprises six loudspeakers and a total output of 110 watts in the 718 Boxster and eight loudspeakers with 150 watts in the 718 Cayman. The amplifier integrated into PCM optimally adapts the interior acoustics to the driver and passenger.

All the information about points of interest, such as restaurants, gasoline filling stations and hotels, is directly accessible using the PCM Finder. As well as the address and contact details, reviews by other visitors are also displayed, provided a data connection has been established.

Bi-Xenon™ Headlights.

Rain. Fog. Night. A true athlete doesn’t let that stop them. That's why all 718 models come with Bi-Xenon™ Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) with integrated daytime running lights in LED technology.

Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS).

The Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), which includes expressive four-point daytime running lights, headlight cleaning system and dynamic range control, is available as an option. The dynamic cornering light function swivels the headlights towards the inside of a bend, so as to light up more of the road at tight bends and turns. In short: the road ahead is illuminated the moment you start to corner.

LED Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus).

Superior safety meets sporty design in the form of optional LED headlights including PDLS Plus. Optimum visibility is assured by integrated fourpoint daytime running lights, the headlight cleaning system and dynamic range control.

Assistance systems.

Automatic Cruise Control (ACC).

Available as an option in conjunction with Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), this system regulates the speed of your 718 fully independently based on the distance from the vehicle in front. Radar sensors in the front fascia scan the road ahead.

Lane Change Assist (LCA).

Optional Lane Change Assist (LCA) uses radarbased technology to monitor the area behind the vehicle and blind spots. The system issues a visual warning signal in the window triangle trims whenever a vehicle approaches your vehicle from behind or enters one of your blind spots.

ParkAssist (front and rear) including reversing camera.

Standard ParkAssist audibly alerts the driver to the presence of obstacles detected behind the vehicle. The reversing camera facilitates precise reverse parking and maneuvering. Help is provided in the form of a camera image and dynamic guidelines on the PCM screen.

Speed limit indicator.

The optional camera-based speed limit indicator informs you of speed restrictions and ‘no overtaking’ zones (start and end). Notifications appear on the display in the instrument cluster and on the PCM screen.

The Boxster 25 Years.
Most anniversaries are predictable. Long speeches. And plenty of tributes. But it's not the same for the Boxster. It celebrates its anniversary as a real roadster should: on the open road. In the corners. In the early morning light. And, of course, with you at the wheel. The Boxster embodies 25 years of unbridled driving pleasure. And the feeling of being forever young.
In addition to the name ‘Boxster’, which is made from combining ‘Boxer’ and ‘Roadster’, the idea has remained unchanged to this day: with high agility thanks to the mid-engined layout, two seats, two luggage compartments, the typical flyline, a horizontally opposed engine with a low centre of gravity and direct responsiveness.
The anniversary model ignites this idea in a very special way – with six cylinders, 394 hp, a rich flat-6 sound and many references to its origins. And limited to 1,250 units.
Time to unleash that collective emotional power. The road's clear.

Design.
True beauty knows no age. The Boxster 25 Years is arguably one of the best examples of this. Confident in style, it combines its unmistakable lines and design language with references to the very first concept study in 1993. This makes it our homage to the concept of the Boxster – to driving pleasure and feeling forever young.

LED main headlight including PDLS Plus.

The raised fenders typical of Porsche perfectly showcase the expressive design of the LED Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus).

Air inlets in contrasting colour.

The inspiration for the contrasting colour Neodyme originates from the initial concept study and emphasizes the already powerful design of the large front and lateral air intakes.

"Boxster 25" Fabric hood.

The all-electric fabric roof of the Boxster 25 Years carries the embossed signature ‘Boxster 25’, visible both when open and closed. It is optionally available in red or black. A small and yet visually very distinctive detail: the windshield frame in black.

“The vision of the sports car of the future” is the bold motto of the 1993 Boxster concept study. Porsche returns to its true roadster roots: mid-engined layout, two seats, open roof and innovative design. At the Detroit Auto Show, the concept study initially stands on the sidelines. And then quickly takes center stage as the “Best of Show”. Future – we're waiting for you.

In 1996, the first series-produced Boxster (986) with a water-cooled six-cylinder horizontally opposed mid-mounted engine and 201 hp rolls off the production line in Zuffenhausen. The lightweight, agile style conjures up memories of Porsche mid-engined race cars such as the 550 Spyder or the 718 RS 60 Spyder, setting new performance and safety standards in the roadster segment. Over 160,000 units were sold worldwide.

The Boxster 25th anniversary model builds a bridge from yesterday into today. Inspired by the concept study that marked the beginning of the Boxster era in 1993, the anniversary model continues to be synonymous with unbridled driving pleasure. Thanks to its high performance and many historical details, this idea burns brighter than ever before – and inspires just as it did on the first day. Limited to 1,250 units.

Limitation Plaque.

It includes a very special detail: a discrete plaque above the glove compartment and your individual limited edition number of the 1,250 Boxster 25 Years models built.

Entrance panels with "Boxster 25" lettering.

The door-sill guards – also with two-tone ‘Boxster 25’ logo – bring that roadster feeling to life, even before you’ve sat down.

Leather Interior.

Probably the most classic of all Porsche Roadster colour palettes: the combination of the red interior with silver exterior paintwork. The leather interior¹ in Bordeaux Red is rounded off with trim on the dashboard and the centre console in Brushed Aluminum. A leather interior in black is optionally available.

Sport Chrono Paket.

The integrated Sport Chrono Package enables an even sportier tuning of the chassis, engine and transmission. And launches you to unprecedented sporty heights. In addition to the stopwatch and four selectable driving modes on the GT Sport Steering Wheel, it includes dynamic transmission mounts. These combine the advantages of a hard and soft transmission mounting arrangement and thus increase both driving stability and driving comfort.
