Complete restoration
Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 Cabriolet
The Carrera is the most powerful version of the Porsche 356 - from zero to 100 in 9.4 seconds – until then only a limited number of vehicles have accomplished such a feat. Only 34 copies of the Porsche 356 Carrera B 2 were built as convertibles with a luxurious interior. The powerful two-liter vertical-shaft engine is reflected in the model’s name: Carrera 2. As of April 1962, the Type B 356 Carrera 2 was equipped with disk brake technology developed by Porsche for the Formula One race car Type 804.
A total of ten 356 B T6 convertibles were delivered with an electric sliding roof in the hardtop attachment. The shown vehicle is worldwide the only 356 B Carrera 2 Cabriolet with this feature. Following restoration work by the Porsche Classic Partner in Berlin-Potsdam, this one-off creation was sold at the Techno Classica 2017 world show.
Revive the Passion – Porsche 911 Factory Restoration
A spectacular action for all lovers of classic Porsche vehicles: Porsche Classic restored a 1973 US version 911 T Coupé for the Porsche Club of America (PCA) under the motto "Revive the Passion". The finished gem was raffled off among PCA members and publicly presented to the winner at the Porsche Parade in the USA in August 2011. Just this once, Porsche enthusiasts with a soft spot for vintage cars and recent classics were able to look over the shoulders of the Porsche Classic workshop specialists while they were working.
In 1955, the PorscheSpeedster was advertised as “the classic sports car from the major European school”. Today, the 356 A Speedster is renowned for its low windscreen alongside its otherwise highly purist design. It also offers supreme driving pleasure as it is lighter than the Coupé and Cabriolet. This makes the Speedster one of the most popular 356s among Porsche fans today. Production of the 356 A Speedster began in 1955 and continued until 1958, when it was superseded by the 356 Convertible D. This Porsche is one of the 850 Speedster models that were produced in 1956. The 356 A Speedster has a powerful 60-hp, 4-cylinder boxer engine with 1582 cc, which can reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.
This Porsche in “Speedster Blue” was completely restored and delivered to its owner in 2014.
The Porsche 911, as it is known today, was unveiled to the world in 1963 under the moniker “901” as the legitimate successor model to the 356. The characteristic shape of its rear was retained in the 911 from its predecessor. Initially, a small number of 901s were also produced in 1964. In total, 232 “911s” (incl. 901) were produced in 1964. As well as visual changes, there were many technological innovations. Alongside the increased displacement of 2.0 litres, the Porsche was now driven by a 130-hp, 6-cylinder boxer engine, giving it the sound that is so characteristic of Porsche today.
The Porsche in shimmering Ruby Red was shown live by Porsche Classic at Goodwood Revival 2011 where it was partially dismantled. It was then fully restored without losing any of its original 1964 character and authenticity.
